6in x 6in x .025 metal with four 1/8in mounting holes. Ford purchased the DT&I in 1920 for $5M, when it had a deficit of $1.9M at the time. Some called it the "Tin Lizzie RR". After Ford spent $10M plus on improvements and higher wages, DT&I employees would not affiliate with any RR Brotherhoods, because of their treatment by FORD. DT&I started turning profits in 1923 and beyond, and FORD was regarded as a railroad genius.  FORD sold the road in 1929 to the Pennroad Corp., which was associated with the PRR, for $36M.... a huge profit!  Black & White logo used by the DT&I over the years when owned by Henry Ford.  Created in 1905, under control of Henry Ford 1920 - 1929, Grand Trunk Western merged the DT&I in 1983. GTW parent Canadian National sold DT&I in 1997 to RailTex, then in 2000, RailTex was purchased by RailAMerica. Click on above image for zoom.
